Purpose of the job:

As a key member of a small team of experts, the job-holder will be engaged in engineering project work, to develop and improve metal packaging products and manufacturing processes, from ideas and concepts, through development and on to implementation in a Crown plant.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Use CAD (SolidWorks) to design metal packaging components, tools, and machine parts.
• Organise and undertake product and process development work in the technical facilities at Crown Technology, setting up equipment and manufacturing samples for testing, demonstration and customer trials.
• Evaluation and proving of new product specifications.
• Generation of product manufacturing standards and specifications.
• Transfer technology into the manufacturing plants, preparing the necessary documentation, providing. commissioning support and demonstrating capability against dimensional and performance requirements.
