A secondary specialist school for pupils aged 11 to 18, catering for children with a wide range of needs is looking to recruit a multiple 1:1 support assistant. Their dedicated team, work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

The role

- Monitor the pupil’s response to the learning activities and modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes

- To give positive encouragement, feedback and praise to reinforce and sustain the pupil’s efforts and develop self-reliance and self-esteem.

- To support the pupil in developing social skills both in and out of the classroom
