The Planning Technician II develops procedures for the development, operation and maintenance of digital information in support of the Municipal Information Management System (MIMS). The successful incumbent will be responsible for applying various Geographical Information System (GIS) resources to conduct spatial analysis. Additional responsibilities will include reviewing, assessing and recommending revisions related to the geomatics content of plans and regulations; maintaining GIS layers, paper maps, and other related files created within the Local Governance and Land Use Planning Division on provincial geospatial database/ registry of land use plans; maintaining existing GIS files for end users and providing guidance, orientation and instructions to end-users on use; locating and tracking advancements in use of AutoCAD and GIS applications, managing data and evaluating the integrity of data received; analyzing land use data to ensure...
