Debt Recovery Assistant

Here at Halton Housing, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Debt Recovery Assistant to work across our vibrant organisation.

What You’ll Do
• Identify and chase low level arrears and other debt cases, at initial contact with customer
• Take appropriate action, responding in line with current procedures implementing established recovery methods, including letters, telephone calls and serve notices of seeking possession
• Manage impact of Universal Credit by completion of rent verification, assess financial and personal circumstances complete APA application, confirm, and monitor regular rent payments and the take up of Direct Debits
• Identify any changes in Housing Benefit payments and take action to maintain rent payments
• Identify any customer vulnerability or abandoned tenancy and pass to appropriate Halton Housing Team for investigation
