Duties
• Receives and shelters animals brought to the pet boarding facility for temporary care. Performs work according to established methods or special instructions and decides required care for dogs and cats.
• Observes the animals' appearance and activity for obvious signs of illness. disease, or discontent, and judges their general physical condition. Uses knowledge in determining the animal type and amount of food/liquid needed and determines any special feeding requirements.
• Is capable of force feeding and applying medications to animals.
• Uses skills in handling and restraining hard to control animals to prevent injury to the animal or self.
• Cleans and disinfects feeding utensils, pens/run areas, restroom, and other required tools.
• Bathes animals as needed. Continually observes animals and notifies supervisor of any obvious abnormal changes of appearance and activity.
• Cleans yard and mow the lawn when needed.
