This post is based in General Surgical Directorate. You will rotate through the General Surgery Unit. The duties involve the clinical care of acute and elective admissions to the Surgical Units with participation in an emergency rota. Cross cover of orthopaedic wards both in and out of hours is a requirement of the post. The successful applicant would be actively encouraged to be involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Inverclyde Royal Hospital IRH is situated in Greenock, approximately 30 minutes from Glasgow. Serving a population of approximately 125,000 across the urban and rural areas of Inverclyde, Largs, Bute and the Cowal Peninsula, the hospital provides a range of services including in-patient beds, general medical and surgical specialties, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and Accident & Emergency.
