Pastoral Support Engage Education have a longstanding partnership with an SEN school in Barnsley who are in need of a Pastoral Support Worker. The school itself caters for children aged 5 to 16. It is a nurturing, modern space for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will be working alongside a team of excellent teachers and support staff who are amongst the most dedicated, caring and resilient in education. This position is full-time and for an immediate start (w/c 20th February). It is initially a temporary position, but could become permanent in due course. This school caters for young people SEMH issues and so can often show challenging behaviours. You will need to have or be willing to learn a range of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies. Your Role: Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
