JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SITE QUANTITY SERVEYOR

1. Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.

2. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.

3. Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.

4. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.

5. Provide advice on procurement, risk management and cost-saving measures when required

6. Understanding the client requirements and quantities take off as per marking drawings.

7. Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets from the sales team.

8. Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.

9. Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.

10. Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
