Job Information

The Relief Corrections Officer will be responsible for supervision of incarcerated adults in accordance with operational standards established in the NWT Corrections Division. This is done in order to provide safe and secure custody, rehabilitation of offender and to facilitate the reintegration of offender into their communities. As part of the facility operations team in the incumbent will ensure the ongoing provision and enforcement of policy and services in accordance with the Corrections Mission, Vision and Value statement.

The successful applicants will be:
• One of several similar positions (between 3 and 16) reporting to a shift supervisor.
• Works in any post as assigned.
• Participates in the orientation, training and mentoring of new employees.
• Is a Peace Officer while on duty.
