THE JOB: Executive Ecologist

Job Overview

Based in the Council’s Planning Department, the role of ecologist will be a strategic resource for the Council as a whole.

The Ideal Candidate

It is desirable that candidates demonstrate through their application form and at the interview that they have:
• Excellent overview and understanding of and familiarity with the ecology of natural habitats and protected species of Ireland;
• Familiarity with the Irish planning process and other relevant legislative provisions
• Excellent Scientific analysis and report writing skills
• Project management experience
• Ability to operate in wide and sometimes varied professional capacities
• Experience working in Local Government and/or familiarity with Local Government processes
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders involved in ecology arena.
