Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated full time, permanent Band 5/6 Orthoptist (depending upon experience) to join our team of 3 Orthoptists, Optometrist and 4 consultant Ophthalmologists based at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The Orthoptic department provides general adult and paediatric clinics including patients from eye casualty, neurology, stroke rehabilitation team, secondary vision screening, visual processing difficulty referrals and special school screening.

The Orthoptic service is based at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital with outreach clinics based at several community locations therefore the post holder must be able to travel carrying equipment.

We are an accredited department for orthoptic under-graduate students and as a teaching hospital we are involved in the clinical teaching of medical students, junior doctors, pre-registration optometrists and other professionals.
