The purpose of the Settlements Officer/Team Leader to ensure effective functioning of the securities functions through effective monitoring of all securities related functions.

Monitoring all controls within the JSE regulations
• Monitor that all settlements are done correctly on the appropriate settlement cycle.
• Securities lending: Ensure that there are no short positions in a controlled or non-controlled client transaction that may affect the settlement cycle.
• Share transfers-Internal and External: Monitor and ensure that the correct instructions are received from the client in order to process a share transfer.
• Paper based listed and unlisted securities: Ensure the correct details have been provided on the securities script receipt and captured accordingly onto the relevant system.
• Misdeal: Process reversal of settled trades, processed after the settlement cycle.
