Position Details

Transportation and Infrastructure - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

Work involves responsibility for performing daily safety checks and maintenance inspections of airstrip surface, lights, markers, building, security, and supplies. The incumbent is also responsible for taking charge of the overall coordination of the emergency operations at the scene as the on-scene controller. Other responsibilities include routine daily maintenance on equipment and maintaining accurate documentation of activities at the airport and maintenance records; maintain airport surfaces; snow plowing, snow removal and grading gravel runways and immediately advising the supervisor of any conditions which may adversely affect the operation of aircrafts. Other duties as assigned.

Screening Criteria
• Experience in operation of heavy equipment
• Experience in minor repairs to heavy equipment
• Experience in operating an airstrip (asset)
