Being just a 5-minute drive from the township of Tapanui and only 30 mins to Gore makes our 274Ha, 650 cow farm an extremely attractive opportunity for a good solid assistant farm manager, who has at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role and is mature enough to run the farm in the owner’s absence.
“The must haves” for you to be successful in this role, still be willing to milk, our shed is a fully automated 54 bail rotary. You will also be able to oversee our younger staff, you must be extremely competent on the computer and have good knowledge of Minda, Pro Trak etc, you will also be responsible for the pasture management, rostering, feed budgeting and a very competent tractor driver. Our current 2IC has been with us for over 6 years, so we reckon that means we are pretty good employers.
