The Animal Care Manager is a full-time, permanent position that is the lead on ensuring animals at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve are well cared for. This includes meeting or exceeding the standards of care required for YWP to maintain its accreditation with Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums. This position plays important roles in coordinating important stakeholders, hands-on animal care, team-leadership and strong communication throughout all parties. The position supervises up to 5 Animal Care staff, manages an annual budget of approximately $450,000 and reports to the Executive Director. Duties include:
• Management of the Animal Care Department
• Care and management of the YWP’s Animal collection (130-150 animals from 10 species)
• Provision of a Wildlife Rehabilitation program (50-100 patients annually)
