The role

The M&A Reporter will report on M&A activities in Japan. He/she will be responsible for interviewing company executives and market experts regarding M&A and investment strategies as well as market trends to compile into intelligence reports. Preference will be given to candidates with reporting experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interview Japan-based companies and market experts regarding M&A strategies and market trends
• Take charge of the assigned sectors and remain informed on latest deals, activities, and trends in the space
• Communicate and cooperate with local and regional team members
• Maintain and expand source network

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• Fluency in Japanese and English (articles will be written in English)
• Ability to work under deadline pressure
• 3+ years’ experience in journalism preferred
• Knowledge of the financial markets preferred but not necessary
• Specific sector knowledge a plus
• Good interpersonal skills
