kestrel NATURAL RESOURCES would like to hire a field assistant in Smithers, BC to help collect road inventory and prescription data. The suitable candidate should feel comfortable working in remote environments and have a basic understanding of forestry. A designation is not required but is an asset to the role.

The field assistant will work a forester to collecting road inventory and prescription data in the Northwest region. Although most of the work is accessible from Smithers, there will be times that the project demands that the team stay in Terrace and Fort Fraser during the week. Daily activities will require that the team of two travel together to remote environments on foot, by pickup, ATV or helicopter. Wildlife encounters are possible.

The role is temporary (until November 2024) and can be part-time depending on the candidate’s schedule. The compensation begins at $35/hr.
