Position Description

Under close supervision the Engineer I, performs pre-professional civil, mechanical, structural, or traffic engineering work in the field or office; assists in such projects as design, surveys, construction,

research, project management, review of construction documents for compliance to State and Local codes and regulation, and development of a wide variety of engineering projects.

Depending on assignment, incumbents perform various tasks throughout the City of Fresno which include but may not be limited to: calculating cost computations, entitlement cost and fees; preparing sketches and ensuring plans and specifications follow predetermined standards; performing onsite posting of legal notices; producing routine drawings from field notes, preparing and reviewing legal descriptions; preparing as-built drawings, reducing survey notes, preparing and maintaining maps, and plotting land divisions from written property descriptions; assisting in the estimates and...
