You will make a difference as an Accountant by providing a range of strategic advice and operational financial support services to Council departments, provide financial advice and fulfil the statutory obligations around compliance, accountancy standards and codes of practice.

Our Finance team play an important role in ensuring the council funds are being distributed, controlled and spent appropriately and yo

u will provide a technical accounting service in support of a specific areas of the Council. On a daily basis you will review and resolve any issues relating to budgets, financial information and resources for your area of specialism so that agreed targets are met. In this senior role you will provide expert advice to councillors, departments, managers and the senior leadership team, ensuring they receive clear guidance and information data that fulfils statutory requirements.
