Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
• Serve as a technical expert in the Division for all work involving the processing of personnel/payroll documents and maintenance of personnel records.
• Perform extensive research when complicated personnel issues arise. Research regulations and case law and ensure that applicable case law decisions have not been overturned.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the methods, techniques, and procedures used to provide processing and recordkeeping support to customers; identify and recommend areas for improvement; implement approved process improvements.
