Cook County Public Health and Human Services is currently hiring a full time (40 hours a week) Public Health Educator - Youth Prevention Specialist.Cook County Duties: The Public Health Educator, Youth Prevention Specialist, will focus their efforts on building authentic community engagement among youth ages 10-24. This position will develop a youth coalition centered on building protective factors and decreasing risk factors that are shared for both substance misuse and suicide. This work will follow best practices as outlined in the Strategic Prevention Framework as they relate to community assessment, program planning, capacity building, program implementation, and evaluation. Merit System Classification: Under supervision does professional and administrative work related to supervising a comprehensive health education program; establishes and conducts health education programs for patients and consumers; and performs related work as assigned.
