The position is situated in a children's locality team, working with children and their families from referral through to conclusion or closure of case. This can involve CASP planning, Child protection and safeguarding and Court Work.

The team consists of a longstanding team manager, senior practitioner, social workers and a child care support worker, all of who are mutually supportive. Pay rate is in line with the All Wales Pledge.

Social workers carry a case load of assessments CASP and CP, where required they refer to Legal services with the potential to enter the PLO arena.
In addition to assessments, social workers formulate plans and complete statutory duties including regular visits to children in accordance with their plans. Meetings are facilitated and chaired by Social workers to review plans.
Social workers contribute to a duty rota on a regular basis to ensure a timely response is available to any urgent situations.
