Division Leader - Community Planning (Manager)

Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for managing the land-use planning unit, including long range planning and development approvals.
Major Responsibilities:
• Formulate new policies and revise existing land use policies for development purposes.
• Responsible for the coordination and preparation of the municipal Official Plan and Secondary Plans.
• Manage the budgetary, human and physical resources for the Planning Unit in alignment with the Municipality of Lakeshores’ visions and values and in accordance with the annual Business Plan.
• Supervise and direct the activities of personnel engaged in development related functions.
• Provide information and consultative services to developers, investors and related agencies.
• Work in and foster a team environment to form a seamless division between Planning and Building staff.
