Description

The Community Ministry Worker is responsible for participating in and supporting the programs of The Salvation Army Georgina Community Church that help to connect members of the wider community with services that meet human needs.

Within the context of The Salvation Army, they will work cooperatively with the corps officers, church staff, and volunteers in all aspects of the summer programs and events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Assist with planning and / or implementing a parents & kids play cafe weekly drop-in, weekly youth drop-in, and Brave Circles girls follow-up event
• Support and implement a one (1) week summer VBS (Vacation Bible School) with a team of volunteers.
• Advertise local Salvation Army events in the Georgina communities using flyers (Summer concerts, VBS, etc.), distributing popsicles / freezies in the park to connect with community members, supporting the Georgina Chess Academy summer drop-in event
