The employee performs difficult professional and administrative work directing the operation of wastewater treatment and water treatment plants, including the various phases of water treatment, filtration, pumping and storage facilities, and wastewater treatment pumping and storage facilities, and maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment; does related work as required. An employee in this class directs the chemical treatment, mechanical, semiskilled and laboring tasks at utility plants, facilities, and assets which includes responsibility for organizing the work of employees, making work assignments and inspecting work to make certain that the plants are efficiently operating and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
