For a position as a PhD Candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree.

The is seeking a PhD candidate within marine systems design and logistics. The overall goal will be on developing theory, models and methods for fleet and vessel design to support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from Norwegian and international shipping towards the goal of zero emissions by 2050.

Your immediate leader is the Head of the Department and your supervisor.

Duties of the position

Required selection criteria
• master s degree in naval architecture, marine or offshore technology or similar (education must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree program, where 120 credits are obtained at master's level)
• strong academic competence in systems design and analysis methods, such as operations research and optimization, model-based systems engineering, simulation, and data analysis.
