Justice and Attorney-General (Organisation site ) First Nations Justice Office; Justice Policy and Reform; Brisbane The Director, Policy and Strategy of the First Nations Justice Office (FNJO) will be responsible for leading the strategic vision and coordination for implementation of the criminal justice reform initiatives undertaken by the FNJO.
The FNJO was established as part of the Queensland Government’s response to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce (the Taskforce) report Hear her voice – Report One – Addressing coercive control and domestic and family violence in Queensland (Report One) to address the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Queensland’s criminal justice system and meet Queensland’s National Agreement on Closing the Gap (the National Agreement) justice targets.
The FNJO have established addressing overrepresentation of First Nations peoples in the justice system and domestic and family violence as their key priorities.
