Join an exciting and expanding geriatric medicine service in the northernmost region of New Zealand which is close to Auckland yet offers stunning coastlines, rolling farmland, forests and affordable living in an attractive city.

The team of 5 full time and 1 part time geriatricians runs the geriatric service in a 260 bed district general hospital with all major specialities. The geriatric facilities and services include:
• a 30 bed Assessment and Rehabilitation ward
• an 8 bed Acute Stroke Unit
• 8-10 Acute Care of the Elderly beds (ACE) with
• a full multidisciplinary team
• an ACE service in ED to rapidly assess, and if possible, prevent admission.
• outpatient clinics on five sites across the region
• inpatient orthogeriatric services, fracture liaison
• perioperative delirium services.
The service is well supported by community rehabilitation teams, a region-wide needs assessment service and Gerontology nurse specialists.
