Job Title: Environmental Management Intern

Sappi is offering a one-year internship for a recent Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany or Environmental Management graduate to gain real-world experience in managing environmental matters including field assessments, audits and community upliftment.

Our interns are supported by competent and committed mentors who will guide your programme and development during the year.

The main
responsibilities of the job:
- Use the Forestry Field Assessment tool to conduct in-field assessments to monitor and evaluate the success of erosion prevention and alien species clearing efforts.
- Implement the miniSASS scoresheet to monitor river health in the catchment area.
- Identify local eco-rangers/citizen scientists from Sappi and WWF project areas to train on these monitoring tools.
