Purpose of the job

The core purposes of this job are to provide administrative and substantive support to the IP team of DetNet.

To manage and carry out administrative tasks relating to legal records to provide legal opinions in general commercial law; to ensure timeous and accurate preparation of legal reports, mostly in IP; and to ensure that other ad hoc tasks of the legal team are performed.

Required outputs: Functional
• with internal and external counsel correspondence.
• periodic reports.
• as backup for the IP Specialist and, where required, the Executive.
• as an assistant in drafting, vetting, and editing contracts and policies.
• the creation and review of templates, process maps and other documents as required.
• organize and maintain IP and contracts database.
• the gathering of information for IP management and litigation purposes.
• meetings and manage the diaries of the legal team.
• minutes.
• legal research, especially in IP law, contracts law and litigation.
