Introduction

Our client in the Robertson, Swellendam area has a vacancy for a Packhouse expension officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible to establish a communication link between the packhouse, farm & marketing operations, and provide information to the packhouses and producers in order to improve logistics, decision making and maximize efficiency. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager – South Packhouses.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure the accuracy on Crop estimates (size, packout, etc) and timely communication of updates.
• Liase with packhouse and farms with regards to packhouse capacity and optimising delivery vs packing.
• Provide detailed information on expected fruit on both internal and external quality.
• Verify and compile detailed reporting on grower phytosanitary status, MRL’s and spray programs for optimal target market allocations (Orchard rating).
