RPO Recruitment’s client in the FMCG industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Procurement Officer to join their team in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities
• Award orders for maintenance work in conjunction with the maintenance
• Superintendents of the vessels.
• Understand and compare technical quotes.
• Negotiate pricing based on quotes and work done.
• Impose penalties based on agreed terms.
• Analyse spends and improve the sourcing process to maximize quality of work and
• minimize cost.
• Select and source from suppliers in line with Preferential Procurement targets.
• Follow-up on outstanding orders and attend to account queries.
• Be fully conversant with current market prices of all items required.

Requirements
• Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management.
• Technical qualifications will be advantageous.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a buyer capacity in related industry.
• Exposure to import terms and conditions.
