The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members. The post holder is expected to participate in the screening and pre-assessment of patients undergoing a variety of elective surgical procedures and will work as a member of the pre-assessment team in an out-patient capacity. The post holder is expected to work closely with all disciplines to ensure the promotion of high standards for all patients requiring all aspects of Pre-operative care encompassing a variety of specialties and will participate in the planning of patient admissions and discharges from hospital and preparation of patients for surgery.
