Macmillan Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist

The James Paget University Hospital are working collaboratively with Macmillan Cancer relief to give the best experience of care to our cancer patients. We are developing our Oncology pathways to support patients and their families from referral through to palliative care with the introduction of a new Macmillan Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist role.

This role will cover larger body sites such as Colorectal, Breast and Urology with opportunities for nurse-led clinics and personalised care pathways. All treatment modalities will be covered including SACT, radiotherapy, palliative care and surveillance.

The successful post holder will need to work closely with the Oncology MDT and other MDT professionals to provide a seamless transition of care. They will join the existing Oncology Consultant and Clinical Nurse Specialist team, supporting inpatients and outpatients, and the tertiary centres.
