Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the the position of Grounds Maintenance Worker I. This position performs work in the maintenance, care, and modification of District grounds and landscapes which include the operation of electrically-powered tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, trimming grounds and landscaping. This position also performs general problem solving maintenance on grounds keeping equipment and tools, and makes minor repairs (within demonstrated capability) as directed.

Essential Functions

Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs grounds and landscape maintenance duties including, but not limited to, mowing, transplanting, planting, pruning, weed control, tree/shrub trimming, leaf clean up, tree removal, fertilizing, and preparing sites for landscaping.
