ScotSTAR is a national service, within the Scottish Ambulance Service that provides safe transfer for some of the sickest patients within NHS Scotland. The clinical teams transport patients, from babies to adults by road and air. An integral element of the ScotSTAR team is the Neonatal & Paediatric Service, which is embarking on a period of transformational change. The Neonatal Service will have a key role in supporting the implementation of Best Start, the Scottish Governments plan for improving maternity and neonatal care in Scotland. The Paediatric service has gone through a period of increased demand and as a result requires to be redesigned to meet the future demand.
