The role

As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Field Services Technical Officer will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading a wide range of electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical equipment on RAN ships, test sites and facilities.

Further, the successful candidate will:
• Participate in the ongoing support, repairs, maintenance and upgrade of Royal Australian Navy systems including Command and Control, Fire Control System and Primary Search Radar equipment for ship and shore installations.
• Assist in test, acceptance and set to work of hardware at factory and ship/shore installations
• Take an active role in the hardware maintenance and support work carried out in the Saab Workshop and test sites.
• Conduct equipment repairs to Lowest Replaceable Unit level.
• Ensure adherence to approved work practices with specific responsibility for ESD prevention and electronic equipment handling practices
