THE POSITION

Apple Valley Fire Protection District is currently recruiting qualified applicants for the position of Reserve (Volunteer) Inspector. Under general direction and supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Reserve Inspector performs a variety of public safety inspections of various types of buildings and properties. The Reserve Inspector conducts field inspections of buildings and new construction and will also be responsible for enforcing various fire codes and local ordinances. Additional duties include weed abatement inspections, public education presentations, and other related duties as required.

WORK SCHEDULE

The volunteer Reserve Inspector is a two-year commitment of one eight-hour shift per week assisting fire inspectors with fire and life safety inspections and other fire prevention activities.
