This project will involve the synthesis of ultra-small nanoparticles functionalized on

the surface with a dynamic phototherapy agent and a targeting peptide for photodynamic therapy (PDT). This work will focus on the synthesis and physicochemical, photophysical and photothermal characterization of these nanoparticles. Different synthesis routes will be explored with raw materials from different chemical families. Then, the interaction of nanoparticles with radiation (visible, IR or even X-rays) will be particularly studied. The most interesting nanoparticles will then be provided to collaborators for tests on cells or small animals.
