CONTEXT OF THE MISSION

Zimbabwe about one in three women aged 15-49 has experienced physical violence and about one in four women have experienced sexual violence since the age of 15. Similarly, 19% of women of childbearing age have an unmet need for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and 21.6% of girls aged 15-19 have already started childbearing.

MdM-CH is present in Zimbabwe since 2020 with presence in Mutare to respond to Cyclone Idai recovery phase. From January 2024, MdM-CH will change its strategic operational intervention, focusing on Gender Based violence prevention, response and advocacy with an operational national partner and a strong evidence-based studies attention linked with universities.

Our intervention will be operationally implemented in Chitungwiza, with some other geographical perspectives (Mutare, Beithbridge, etc.) to develop its operational portfolio.

Position based in Harare with frequent displacement in the field.
