AMSS is the medical short stay unit at Pilgrim hospital where there are opportunities for band 5 experienced and novice nurses. As part of our dynamic team you will deliver care to patients with acute medical conditions in the first 72 hours of their hospital stay.

You will receive development and support from a senior nursing team consisting of a ward manager and two Clinical Practice Educator. We offer a Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified nurses, and the trust has a strong emphasis on staff support and development

The Short Stay Unit is a 48 bedded Unit which specialises in prioritising and delivering first line treatments and care to stabilise acutely ill patients prior to discharging home in a safe, prompt and timely manner.
