Adoption and Permanency Branch provides information and resources to Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Indigenous Child and Family Services Agency (ICFSA) staff with Guardianship and Adoption Delegation to ensure that best practices are followed in the delivery of adoption and permanency planning services for children and youth who are in the continuing care of MCFD and ICFSAs. As part of these responsibilities, the Branch ensures that frontline staff are familiar with provincial and federal laws and United Nations conventions that protect the rights of children and youth, to ensure children and youth are involved in decisions that affect them and that their rights are upheld.

The Branch also supports the practice of MCFD and ICFSA staff with Guardianship and Adoption Delegation who carry out adoption responsibilities and provides services to adopted persons. The Branch licenses... More Detail
