Job Responsibilities

• Taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures • Digging trenches and backfilling holes • Operating equipment and heavy machinery • Following instructions from construction project managers and supervisors • Loading and unloading building materials • Removing hazardous materials and debris from the work site • Assisting trade workers, such as carpenters or electricians • Controlling the work site by putting up barriers and signs or directing traffic Job Qualifications: • Basic math skills to perform calculations while measuring on job sites and to help the surveying crew • Ability to travel around state of Iowa and neighboring states

• Ability to perform heavy labor, such as moving materials

• Valid driver's license • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Ability to read or understand instructions and blueprints • Effective time management skills • Understanding of building codes, safety protocols and OSHA standards More Detail
