Educational Assistant - Special Education behavior

Location: Western Alberta (Jasper)
Wihnemne School, located on the Paul First Nation, 30 mins west of Edmonton is currently seeking full time Educational Assistants with experience working with 1:1 behavioral students. We currently need support with a 5 year old student as well as a 12 year old.

You will assist a designated student with activities of a in an inclusive setting.

You will work with a teacher as well as our Wellness team to assist this student in an academic setting, while also monitoring and supporting this student when they need a break, etc. Skills with de-escalation, SEL, consistency, patience and NVCI skills are truly beneficial. PREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS/

EXPERIENCE:

Satisfactory teaching experience of students with intellectual/emotional behavioral disabilities- needs. Participation in workshops/conferences/coursework regarding emerging trends in Special Education Educational background for Educational Assistants or Childcare Level(s).
