Job Description

· Receiving, capturing and distribution of all samples to ensure correct information is
obtained and recorded and to facilitate the speedy processing of samples in the terms of service objectives.

· Sorting and distribution of samples according to set standard operation procedures to ensure the correct and prioritized channeling of specimens to various laboratories.

· Answering incoming calls; taking messages and re-directing calls as required.

· Dealing with email enquiries.

· Ensure correct billing information captured onto laboratory information system.

· Demographic check on all patient requests.

· Add on tests to original request.

· Disinfect work area and complete decontamination log.

· Storage of samples with the LIMS Prelink.

· Perform outstanding's for all samples.

· Ensure Department consumables are adequately stocked.

· Complete laboratory assistant data verification checks weekly.

· Perform shift duties as per roster.

· Client services.
