Liaison Psychiatry is a specialist service providing mental health care in a physical health setting. This role is serving Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, based at Scunthorpe General Hospital and operates as part of a Core24 Model. We support clinicians working across the Emergency Department and inpatien twards to assess and manage mental health problems as they arise. We provide care for people 18 years and over and 16-18 years out of normal working hours.
The role requires a highly skilled nurse to clinically lead the Liaison Team across a 24/7 rota, responding to complex mental health needs in Emergency Departments within one hour and to ward referrals within 24 hours. The post holder will need to provide specialist clinical advice, education, support, and supervision to staff at Scunthorpe General Hospital and to junior staff within the Liaison Team, whilst promoting a positive culture and parity of esteem.
