In 2025, The Reach will present Parallax: Reimagining the Canada-U.S. Border, a collaboratively curated exhibition that will, through Indigenous and settler perspectives, prompt audiences to reconsider the western Canada-US border as a visual invention. A plural history of the demarcation of the border—drawn through Indigenous lands along the 49th parallel by American and British officials, astronomers, and engineers in the 19th century—will be told through historic images and digital interactives, as well as recent and newly commissioned works of contemporary art.

Reporting to the Curator of Art and Visual Culture and working closely with the Guest Curator, the Curatorial Research Fellow, Parallax will carry out primary and secondary research, content creation, writing/editing assignments in support of exhibition development, planning, presentation, and programming.
