The Engineering Technologist in Transportation Planning and Design supports the design process from Concept to As-Built drawings delivered by the branch for arterial roadway projects ranging from roadway paving to full reconstruction. With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:
• Review project scope and objectives with the supervising Engineer and participate in field review(s) for condition assessments and utility checks
• Provide technical design and drafting support to the Transportation Planning & Design section of the Infrastructure Planning & Design Branch
• Prepare concept, preliminary (development), tender, and final contract plans based on current Local, Provincial, and Federal roadway design standards for various transportation infrastructure projects including: widening, rehabilitation/reconstruction, streetscape, active mode, transit improvements, and safety improvements
