DUTIES: The Cook II is responsible for preparing and cooking food on a large scale for College of the North Atlantic’s Bay St. George Campus cafeteria which also provides meal service for students in residence. This individual will prepare quality meals following standardized procedures according to production schedule and established food safety guidelines. The Cook II may provide some assistance with menu selection and meal planning, prepare and store food items in accordance with safe food handling practices, operate and sanitize a variety of cooking equipment, monitor and record food temperatures, assist with the serving of meals, monitor inventory, monitor food wastage, supervise food service staff and provide training to new hires and apprentices. Other duties associated with the operation of a kitchen may be assigned.
