About the Job
• A qualified and licensed person on board the ship who is not a member of the ship’s crew and who brings local knowledge and maritime expertise to ensure safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and optimized transfer operations of oil and gas cargos between tanker ships and offshore terminal facilities.
• Responsible to supervise and monitor the terminal and ship’s conditions prior to and during cargo transfer operations to ensure operating within safe and approved parameters

Key Accountabilities
• Reviews with ship’s officers the ship’s cargo transfer plans and arrangements prior to commencement of transfer operations to ensure all precautions are considered in accordance with terminal safe operations procedures
• Measure atmosphere in ship’s tanks prior to commencement of transfer operations to ensure condition is within safe limits in accordance with terminal and port authority regulations
